As you can easily see in the image the ABS differentials have a longer front pinion housing and provision for an ABS sensor. The NON ABS housings are shorter with no provision. In some cases even if your car came without ABS it can have an ABS differential so please verify before ordering.

There are several options when it comes to wiring your AC. This is just one of several we use regularly especially on gen-4 engines where AC control is typically run by the BCM. This diagram shows you how to use a four wire trinary switch. The specific trinary switch must be of correct pressures for your specific setup. If utilizing the Fueled Racing AC condenser and or AC line kit please contact us for specific part number needed if you did not already add the switch to your AC line order.
Accessories Gen 3-4
1998-2002 F body layout with Fueled Racing billet power steering and alternator brackets. The PS pump is moved to center over an inch to increase belt area and reduce high RPM belt deflection. This position also allows additional clearance for turbo manifolds. Fueled Racing alternator and power steering brackets can be found on our website under “GM Gen 3-4 Engine Parts” and are $225
Alternator idler pulleys can be purchased from $10 up to around $70 depending on the brand used. Some commonly used part numbers are:
19418226 AC Delco OEM $57
419-663 Dorman $25
CEL-49159 $22
Water pumps can be OEM for 1998-2002 F body applications or aftermarket for the same application. Water pumps with thermostats included start around $70 and go up to about $200 for OEM type pumps. Some commonly used part part numbers are:
19195105 AC Delco OEM $172.76
45002 Gates $113
OAW G7290 $70
AW5081 $94
8896 Edelbrock $450 (requires separate pulley) (pump center can be replaced) (very good upgrade as flow is unmatched in mechanical pumps)
Alternator for 1998-2002 F body (the exact alternator used will depend on your PCM and harness used but the single wire alternators can be used on all gen 3-4 engines with minor wiring modifications)
Common part numbers are:
88864280 AC Delco $126.98
SUM-810354 $112
8242 power master $169
Any of the 1998-2002 F body power steering pumps will work and there are quite a few available. We recommend the Turn One pumps for race use but for street use aftermarket replacement pumps are in most cases adequate.
Cardone remanufactured pump (no pulley) 9669849 $133.99 Always use a billet or steel pulley. Composite pulleys fail regularly and we never use them for race use. The Fueled Racing billet power steering pulley is a great option as you are able to remove the pump without removing the pulley.
Harmonic balancer for 1998-2002 F body. There are quite a few options here ranging in price from $50 to about $600. We do not recommend under drive balancers for most situations so do proper research before under driving a GM Gen 3-4 engine. Some commonly used part numbers are:
ATI918853 ATI Super Damper $506
ATI917242 ATI Super Damper $490
PB1480N Power Bond $125
594-127 Dorman $88
Belt tensioner for 1998-2002 F body. We recommend solid tensioners because they are far more reliable and keep the belt more stable at high RPM. Some commonly used part part numbers are:
89049313 AC Delco OEM $54
FRABT Fueled Racing solid tensioner $95 (coming soon)
Serpentine belts. Some commonly used part numbers are:
6PK1955 Bando $15
There are far too many to list so the belt information is as follows: 6 rib belt .84 inches wide (21.3mm) pitch length is 77 inches (1956mm) outside circumference is 77.75 inches (1975mm).
Please note some truck engines need the mounting bosses drilled and tapped to M10 1.5 because they do not come tapped from the factory and some blocks do not have the middle boss cast into the block at all. If there is no boss cast into the block an additional part (FRACCSUPLS) is required.
Fueled Racing offers customized accessory kits for your application when using our accessory brackets so feel free to email or call for details.
We do not recommend using the CD transmission in conjunction with GM generation 3-5 engines for the following reasons.
1. Price. You can sell your CD transmission and then use that money as well as the money you would have paid for the
adaptor, custom clutch (that is very limited in capability) and custom shifter and just buy a T56, T56 magnum F, TR6060 or for that matter a used dog box.
CD009 sells for $1000-$2000 depending on condition
Engine to transmission adapter $1000 to $2000 or more
Serial nine adjustable shifter or similar adjustable shifter $550 to 750
So the low side total is $2550 and the high side total is $4750 and we are not including the labor to modify parts to install the adapter or modify the chassis to fit the shifter.
At time of writing this a new T56 magnum F with a bell housing is $3643
Used T56 transmissions range from $1800 to $2800 but we recommend a new magnum F with a warranty as they are not that much more.
2. Reliability. Our first experience with the CD transmissions was with 1J and 2J swaps and we were having good success with them up to 700whp. Once we designed kits to utilize the CD transmissions in our GM generation 3-5 kits the reality of the CD transmissions became clear. It is simply a horrible choice and there are far better more cost effective options. Of the customers we have sold kits to for the CD transmissions the vast majority have called to buy a new driveshaft and transmission mount for a T56 or similar transmission. There is an enormous difference between an LS and a 2J or a VQ in how the torque is delivered through the transmission and having this many failures and seeing so many customers wasting all this money just to end up buying a proper transmission we could no longer support the CD options without at least informing our customers of these issues up front.
Please realize we make the same amount of money and supply the same parts in the kit for any transmission you choose. We do not make and never will make transmission adapters for the CD transmissions so we have no incentive to sell one kit over the other. This information is simply to ensure you have the data to make an informed decision.
